Cairo, Egypt
Egypt’s capital city of Cairo can be found perched on the Nile River. Home to Giza and the world-famous pyramids, Cairo has plenty of ancient history to discover. Head to Gezira Island’s Zamalek district for some amazing views of the city from the 187m Cairo Tower.
Marrakesh, Morocco
Head to Morocco’s beautiful city of Marrakesh, home to gorgeous mosques, lush gardens and impressive palaces. Make your way through the mazes of the city’s alleys and indulge in the market stalls full of jewels, textiles and pottery.
Luxor, Egypt
Back to Egypt again, with the beautiful city of Luxor. Find this gem on the east bank of the Nile River, on the site of ancient Thebes. Make sure to check out the 2 massive ancient monuments: Luxor Temple and Karnak Temple.
Cape Town, South Africa
South Africa’s city of Cape Town is home to some absolutely breathtaking views. Head on up to Table Mountain via the cable cars to look out over the gorgeous bay or catch a boat to Robben Island for a dip into an important part of the country’s history.
Maasai Mara, Kenya
Maasai Mara National Reserve can be found in Kenya, along the Tanzanian border. Head to this Savannah wilderness to catch a glimpse of cheetahs, elephants, lions, hippos and zebras!
Mauritius
The island nation of Mauritius can be found in the Indian Ocean. While its coasts provide a range of idyllic beaches, lush reefs and turquoise lagoons, the inner of the island houses The Black River Gorges National Park. Head here for rain forest exploration, waterfalls, trails and wildlife.
Madagascar
Madagascar is an island also found in the Indian Ocean, roughly 400 km off the coast of east Africa. Head here to see some absolutely amazing wildlife, unique to the island. Make sure to explore its rain forest, white sand beaches and stunning landscapes.
Hurghada, Egypt
The town of Hurghada sits on Egypt’s Red Sea coast. Head here for some world-class scuba diving and snorkelling. Make sure to also check out El Dahar, where you can find an array of traditional Egyptian coffee shops!
Amboseli National Park, Kenya
Another great National Park in Kenya is Amboseli. Head here to see large elephant herds, giraffes, cheetahs and zebras – as well as a ton of bird species! Visit Observation Hill for some amazing views of Mount Kilimanjaro, across the border in Tanzania.
Mahé, Seychelles
Mahé is the largest island in the Seychelles, located in the Indian Ocean. Head here for idyllic white sand beaches and gorgeous turquoise waters. Mahé is also home to Morne Seychellois, granite peaks set in a dense rain forest. Make sure to check out Victoria, the Capital, where you can find gorgeously colourful markets!
