Fraser Island is the world’s largest sand island and can be found off Australia’s Queensland coast. Head here for some great view points, like Indian Head and the Cathedrals. Check Out The Beaches
Fraser Island has plenty of white sandy beach opportunities. Take a stroll round the whole island if you fancy! At every turn, you’ll be met by the sight of the perfect hues of the turquoise sea and the warm sand beneath your feet.
Head To The Shipwreck
Take a walk along the beach to the SS Maheno, which was ship wrecked on the island by a cyclone in in 1935.
Hike To A Viewpoint
Indian Head and the Cathedrals are great places to hike to for amazing views. Find Indian Head on the easternmost tip of the island, or head to the Cathedrals cliff to see sculpted ribbons of coloured sand.
Have A Dip In Lake McKenzie
Lake McKenzie is a pure water lake with awesome white-sanded beaches. Head to the Great Sandy National Park for a little dip in this idyllic lake – apparently it does wonders for the skin!
Explore The Inner Island
Within the island, you’ll be met with lush rain forests, a gorgeous eucalyptus woodland and dense swamps. You will also be able to spot a diverse array of wildlife here such as birds and maybe even a saltwater crocodile!
4×4 Tours
If you’re not into hiking, a great way to explore the island is via 4X4. But watch out – it’s a little bumpy and you can often bang your head into the roof of the vehicle! However, this is a small price to pay to explore the gorgeous island. And make sure not to miss the scenic Champagne Pools!
