It’s hard to narrow it down when one side of the state is covered by gorgeous Gold and Sunshine coastal beauties – but we’ve given it a go. Surfers Paradise
This city is an absolute must visit – if not just for its awesome name! Surfers Paradise is famous for its gorgeous beach which is set against the high-rise skyscrapers of the city. This paradise offers the perfect balance between a metropolis and a tropical beach resort. Make sure to check out the beach market which takes place in the evening, as well as the SkyPoint observation deck for gorgeous views of the city!
Cairns
The city of Cairns can be found in northern Queensland and is known as the access city to The Great Barrier Reef. It also has cultural and historic qualities – such as the Tjapukai Aboriginal Cultural Park where you can hear stories from indigenous Aborigines. Make sure to check out The Crystal Cascades and Daintree National Park!
Gold Coast
Head to the Gold Coast, just south of Brisbane for some world class beaches that stretch for miles! Here, you can find some great surf spots, theme parks and fantastic hiking trails through Lamington National Park’s mountain ridges and valleys.
Whitsunday Islands
There are a total of 74 Whitsunday Islands which sit between the north coast of Queensland and the Great Barrier Reef. Head here to explore the rich rain forest, sandy beaches and hiking trails.
Cape Tribulation
Visit the remote headland of Cape Tribulation – a coastal area within the Daintree National Park, which encompasses some absolutely breath taking beaches and rain forest trails. You’re able to catch a boat to the Great Barrier Reef from here, as well as embark on jungle zip-lining adventures!
